The machine
The EGF Mandrake Sailing Team started the campaign in 2004 with a Mills 51.

Although it is extremely exciting to sail, the advent of the very light TP52s relegated this boat to second, third and fourth places in the Asian regattas.
In 2010, the boat was replaced by a highly competitive Mills 40ft racing machine.
This boat was built in 2006, and purchased by the EFG Bank Mandrake Sailing Team to compete in the 2010 Commodore’s Cup in UK, representing Hong Kong. After a very successful second place against strong competition, the owners then ship the 40 footer back to Asia, and with regret, the 50 footer was sold in March 2011.
The new EFG Bank Mandrake at 6 tons is highly competitive within our class, and will continue proudly carrying the EFG Bank Mandrake name around the circuits of Asia.
